Health Canada has issued an advisory on the use of cough and cold medications for children. Health Canada is requiring manufacturers to re-label over-the-counter cough and cold medicines that have dosing information for children to indicate that these medicines should not be used in children under 6 years of age. The launch of the Task Force on Medication Management in support of strengthening medication management practices in the Long-Term Care sector is announced by OLTCA, OANHSS, Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and ISMP Canada.
