The Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada (ISMP Canada) is seeking an experienced healthcare professional who is looking for a new challenge and has a strong interest in patient safety, particularly as it relates to medication systems.
You will assist with medication incident analyses, support medication safety improvement projects; participate in writing ISMP Canada safety bulletins; assist in the development and delivery of training programs, and participate in developing and sharing best practices for medication system safety.
Current licensure as a regulated health professional (Pharmacist, Registered Nurse, Physician) with at least 5 years of clinical practice experience is required.
The successful candidate for this position will have a good understanding of medication systems in a health care setting (e.g., hospital, long term care. community pharmacy) and will have played a role in patient safety initiatives in their previous organization. Additional requirements for the position include: excellent written and verbal communication skills; organizational, time management and priority setting abilities and familiarity with computer applications such as Word, Powerpoint and Excel. Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of accreditation and licensing requirements and professional practice standards is desirable.
