ALERT: Using Clear Care Contact Lens Solution Without the Special Lens Case Supplied Can Cause Painful Eye Injuries
ISMP Canada continues to receive reports from consumers who experienced pain and burning in the eyes after confusing Clear Care with a regular contact lens solution. Unlike most other contact lens cleaning solutions, Clear Care contains hydrogen peroxide, which must be neutralized by the special lens case supplied, prior to insertion of the contact lens. ISMP Canada is urging all healthcare professionals to share this alert widely to help prevent further incidents.
