When you pick up a new medication from the pharmacy, you should try to talk to the pharmacist about it. You may be tempted to skip this step if you're in a hurry, but try to plan for it. Most pharmacies give printed information to patients when they pick up new medications, but talking with a pharmacist is even better. The pharmacist will explain or show you how to use the medication. The pharmacist will also tell you about possible side effects to watch for and what to do about them. This is also a chance to ask any questions you have about the medication. It may also help you or the pharmacist to catch any mistakes that may have been made with your prescription.
